BC & Yukon Provincial Council

The BC & Yukon provincial council held its 75th Annual Meeting of Members (AMM) on June 18, 2022, at St. Luke’s parish in Maple Ridge, BC, with 31 members in person and 35 via Zoom.

The spiritual presentation asked participants think about how they would react to different situations based on three words: believe, behave, and belong. Diocesan presidents placed roses and read names of members who passed away in 2020 and 2021.

Along with the regular business and ratifying motions from previous virtual meetings, provincial officers and chairpersons and diocesan presidents reported on 2021 activities and shared plans for 2022. The diocesan presidents presented the results of the instructed vote for amendments to The Catholic Women’s League of Canada’s Constitution and Bylaws, the motion to change the patroness Our Lady of Good Counsel to Our Lady of Guadalupe, and the motion to increase fees.

Three resolutions were presented, discussed in the resolutions dialogue, and approved to be forwarded to the National Council for consideration at the 2022 annual convention. Two recipients of the Molly Boucher bursary were announced, Jenna Bevan, Holy Family, Kamloops,
and Maggie Rosario, Sacred Heart Parish, Williams Lake and dates and places for future meetings were set. The day ended with the celebration of Mass and the reaffirmation of the provincial officers and chairpersons.

The BC & Yukon provincial council looks forward to hosting the 102nd national convention in Kelowna, BC, August 14-17, 2022.
