At Mass for Ash Wednesday, Pope Francis invited everyone to live the 40 days of Lent as a time to “pause” from things which keep us from virtue and to return home to the loving and merciful embrace of God the Father.”
I also wish everyone a very Happy Saint Valentine’s Day!
Well, we are on count-down now, as I have sent out the letters to the 24 members eligible to stand for nomination for our upcoming provincial election. At this time, I ask all diocesan presidents and past presidents to please talk to those people in your diocese who are eligible, encouraging them to give us the gift of themselves, working for God and Canada at the provincial level. As you are aware, it is vitally important that we fill every position. In my last communique, I asked that you encourage, mentor and affirm those who need that little push to take on a bigger role.
I am led to believe that this new term will see many changes through the work being done particularly at the national level on strategic planning for the future. It’s an exciting time for the League and a great time to be a member!
I am still working on our Policy & Procedures Manual, preparing it for the executive team to review and approve at our mid-term meeting in March. I want to have it completed and ready to print up and distribute at our convention in Whitehorse.
Looking forward to your annual reports on all the good work you have been doing!
Blessings to all
